Great Mosque of Testour

الجامع الكبير بتستور

The town’s Andalusian landmark, famous for the minaret clock whose hands turn backwards.

The story

Built in the seventeenth century by Moriscos, the mosque blends Mudéjar arches, ceramics and a square minaret. The reversed clock remains the townspeople’s favourite puzzle: the time reads backwards, as if pointing back towards a lost Andalusia.
